Army 35p mos 201612/4/2023 ![]() ![]() There simply is no “cookie cutter” day-to-day, so it’s almost impossible to answer this question. ”What’s the day-to-day life like?”: It depends. Do you really need to go to JR’s or do you need to finish your reports? This is where self-discipline comes into play. Organization & Time Management - You will need to be organized and able to effectively manage your own time. You will not only need to know how to talk and ask questions but you will need to know what questions need to be asked. You really need to be comfortable with talking to people you don’t know. It helps if you have some general life and Army experience to draw from, but it needs to become natural. Talking - You will need to be able to carry on a conversation with people.Example: “Bill kicked Bob.” This will be difficult for you if you majored in English Composition. Everything is written in third person, past tense, and in active voice. We write for comprehension at the 8th grade reading level. I don’t give a shit how awesome you are on the ground, if you can’t articulate information in a clear, concise report to inform commanders you’re useless as an Agent. Writing - The stereotype is: for every hour of “cool” stuff, there’s four more hours of report writing. You will do a lot of talking and even more report writing. BUT, you will at a minimum learn the basics. It seems like the course changes every other year. ![]() ”What is CISAC like?”: I’m not privy to the latest and greatest. I honestly have no fucking clue what our counterparts in NG/Reserves do. So, the info I provide is based on that experience. The majority of my FORSCOM time was deployed. I was fortunate/unfortunate (depending on your outlook) to spend 75% of my CI time in an INSCOM Field Office environment. Nothing specific, so please don’t ask.Ī brief background: I have 10 years in the MOS (reclassed from 11B). This will be general (unclassified) information. With that being said, I’m closing out my last week before I start terminal leave for retirement and I thought I’d provide some basic info/observations and answers to FAQs for all those interested. Let’s just say, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a 35L that is open to unsolicited requests for information. I’ve got a lot of DMs from randos wanting to ask questions about the MOS. Do not answer n00b questions on the main boards.
